ในส่วนเรื่องความสัมพันธ์… เราชอบมากที่ตัวละครทั้งสองคนเป็นผู้ใหญ่แบบเต็มตัวกันแล้ว มีอำนาจการตัดสินใจในชีวิตตัวเอง ฝั่งเมวิกาก็ดูจะเป็นเรื่องการพึ่งได้ ‘สำรวจ’ รสนิยมทางความสัมพันธ์ของตัวเอง มีแพนิกว่ามันจะเป็นไปไม่ได้อยู่บ้าง ซึ่งมันก็รวมๆ กับพาร์ทธุรกิจด้วยแหละ แต่ก็ไม่ได้เยอะแยะงอแงอะไร
ในระยะเวลาอันสั้น หมายถึง…. ฉากหลังเรื่องมันแค่ไม่กี่เดือน ตั้งแต่เริ่มเปิดตัวไปซื้อซองประมูล เตรียมงาน จนประมูลเสร็จ แต่เราอ่านแล้วเชื่อว่าสองคนนี้เค้าพัฒนาความสัมพันธ์กันแบบคนที่ คลิก กันจริงๆ เหมือนสามเหลี่ยมความสัมพันธ์มันค่อนข้างลงตัว คือแซ่บคู่ ฝั่ง Passion ทะลุปรอท เป็นคนสวยขา Vibe บอสๆ สองคนอยู่ด้วยกันน่ะเนอะ แล้วเหมือนวิถีชีวิตมันเสมอกัน เป็นนักธุรกิจเหมือนกัน พื้นเพชีวิต พื้นที่ชีวิตไม่ต่างกัน มันเข้าใจ มันผูกพันกันง่าย รวมถึงคุณไอย์เค้าไม่ใช่คนปากแข็งด้วยค่ะ ดีงาม เป็นคนติดแฟน ดูแลดี มีเวลาให้ ไม่แคร์สายตาคนอื่น ให้ความสำคัญกับความสัมพันธ์ ตอนคุณไอย์บอกบนโต๊ะกินข้าวตอนพาสาวไปดินเนอร์ว่า ‘ชัดเจนกับฉันหน่อยสิ’ อยากจะขยับความสัมพันธ์อันนั้นดีมาก นุบนิบ น่ารัก
คอนฟลิกฝั่งตัวร้ายลอยๆ ไม่มีน้ำหนักนิดหน่อย แต่ไม่เสียหายอะไรมาก นักเขียนเขียนสนุกค่ะ อ่านเพลิน อ่านรวดเดียวยาวๆ
เป็นนิยายอีกเรื่องที่เรานึกอยากเชียร์ให้มีใครหยิบมาทำซีรี่ส์ แกนเรื่องฝั่งธุรกิจมันแข็งแรงดี คาแรคเตอร์นางเอกทั้งคู่ก็ทรวเสน่ห์ชวนรัก อยากเห็นเป็นภาพเคลื่อนไหวค่ะ
If you’re looking for a Sapphic novel with an adult office setting, this is the book for you!
Iyawrin and Mevika both come from corporate dynasties. The former is in charge of a hotel, while the latter is in charge of a retail complex. They aren’t business rivals until their different companies are set to engage in a bidding war for the management rights to a big duty-free shopping complex worth billions of dollars.
They may be rivals, but they capture each other’s attention, and it’s a sight to witness. So they fight on the project while secretly deepening their romance.
‘Harmony Secret’ is the Sapphic story for you if you’re looking for a Sapphic novel that blends adult workplace dynamics. Iyawrin’s hotel, Oriana, and Mevika’s shopping mall, Superia (adorably referred to as “Maple” when Iyawrin playfully nicknames her that), are formidable competitors. They compete not just with one another but also with a slew of other large and small competitors. The author has definitely done their study into the complexities of the duty-free sector, which makes the work-related elements rather interesting.
In terms of the relationship, I like how both characters are mature adults with decision-making power in their lives. Mevika’s side appears to be doing someself-discovery’ about her relationship preferences. There is some concern about whether it will succeed, especially given the commercial component, but it is not overly dramatic.
It appears that these two have actually established their relationship in a pretty short amount of time (only a few months from the start of the bidding procedure to its completion), which is quite sweet. It’s a passionate relationship, with Iyawrin as the attractive and dynamic vibe boss and Mevika as the solid and caring businesswoman. They complement each other beautifully, and their lifestyles suit each other perfectly. They communicate effortlessly and understand each other. Furthermore, Iyawrin isn’t the obstinate kind, but rather a beauty with a partner, taking good care of her, paying attention to her, and respecting their relationship. It was a lovely moment when Iyawrin remarked to Mevika during supper, “Let’s clarify things between us.” It’s beautiful and sweet.
The villain’s side is quite light—not very sinister but also not wholly innocent. The writing is engaging, making for an interesting and pleasurable read.
This is yet another novel that I would want to see converted into a series for the screen. The story’s business aspect is strong, and both main characters are endearing and appealing. It would be amazing to see their narrative come to life on screen.”
